The Parent Board directs the activities and duties of the Parent Association, which works within the framework of the parish school and consults the principal before decisions are made. The Board consists of 11 members who are elected by the parent community and who serve a two-year term. Two members of this board represent the Parents’ Association on the School Commission.
The purposes of the Parents’ Association are:
- to maintain effective communication between home and school
- to provide a vehicle through which parents can provide service to the school
- to offer a mechanism for parent education
- to fundraise
- to offer a mechanism for political action when needed
